Updated: Aug 3, 2021

OVERVIEW

Prep time: 2 minutes

Difficulty: Easy Peasy

Estimated Cost: 20 AED

Mess level: Mediumn

Age: 6 months plus

What you need:

  • Container

  • Whisk

  • Washing up liquid

  • Food dye

Instructions:

Whisk in a bowl the washing up liquid quickly to get large bubbles. Tip: mix in a food processor for the bubbles to become more intense and therefore more fun. Add food dye to create different colours.

Notes:

Anytime you’re creating and presenting anything interesting to your child, they are learning! Either from using their senses or their imagination, or even a combination of both!

Benefits:

Playing with bubbles provides many good opportunities for development. As your child grows talk about the bubbles being; big, small, wet, slimy and how they are moving; fast, slow etc. Your child will enjoy playing with foam and see it transform from a liquid. Allow the fun and excitement to guide their curiosity and learning.

Can you imagine what a toddler is thinking when they see a huge pile of bubbles appear? They are probably wondering why the bubbles feel light as air, what causes bubbles to pop, and learning a bit about cause and effect at the same time!

Ways to adapt:

Add a straw to the mixture and blow, children will love seeing towers and the bubbles grow.
