Instructions:


Play dough is the perfect toy for kids of all ages because it is non-toxic and reusable. There are so many different ways to play with playdough and lots of different home made recipes that can be used or easily purchased if you don't have time. It is the perfect open ended activity.There is literally an unlimited number of creations your kids can make from play dough.

Benefits:


Improves hand-eye coordination with cutting and molding, can help ease tension, release excess energy, improve focus, and express emotions. Children can work with other children or adults while playing with play dough, it’s great practice for social settings. It's can be difficult to get children interested in learning, especially about tricky subjects like reading or math - play dough is an awesome tool for teaching your children about counting, shapes, descriptions, and more.


Ways to adapt:


  • Give your child objects to make patterns in the playdough. A fork to make a dot pattern, a seashell or make tracks with a toy car.

  • Encourage imaginative play with muffin trays and pretend baking equipment. Pretend they’re making a cake with the playdough.

  • Give your child plastic animals to use with the playdough. Your child could make a lake for the ducks, or roll some playdough into balls to make apples for a horse.
