Notes:

For older children you can look at my arts and crafts activity sheets

Benefits:

Pom poms are great for sensory play, crafts, colour recognition and of course sorting and counting.

This activity focuses on coordination and an understanding of sequence of events that is needed to complete the task of picking up each pom pom and sorting them.

The addition of the tweezers builds fine motor strength. Depending on the age you can start with large ones and then decrease in size to make more changing for them.

This simple activity is actually a lot of bang for your buck: it’s fine motor skills AND math all rolled into one.

Ways to adapt:

Pom poms can be used in so many different ways, counting, sorting and great for arts and crafts.
